Shifting Gears: It’s Summertime!
If I’m being honest, it’s been mentally exhausting to constantly report on the negativity going on around us. Between the state of the aviation insurance market and the effects of COVID-19 on the industry, there has been a lot of doom and gloom for the past several months. I think we all could use a break from that and focus on something a bit more positive and fun: summer! Hopefully, many of you are preparing to take those summer vacations (understandably modified) to get a breath of fresh air.
I know many of our clients are already flying to their favorite lake or a new location they’ve never been. Perhaps a small silver lining of COVID-19 limiting or canceling original plans is it has forced people to try new things, to go to new places, and to do things they may have never done otherwise. A minor consolation maybe, but it’s all how you look at it.
We’ve heard stories of people going on a camping trip nearby instead of trekking to a beach down south. We’ve heard of people taking their travel funds and getting flying lessons or taking up another hobby because their overseas trip was canceled. There are many more stories just like these, too.
The point is, everything that’s going on in the world has certainly affected everyone in some way, but we’re hearing many encouraging stories of people taking the curveball and knocking it out of the park instead of swinging and missing. In time, we’ll be able to get back to our air shows, beaches, and international travel. Until then, we encourage you to take up a new hobby, try something new, or travel to a place you otherwise wouldn’t. You’ll be surprised how much is out there, even if it’s not what you originally planned! And, if anyone needs any assistance finding flight schools or wants to take a helicopter tour, please let us know. We have several clients all over the country ready and willing to offer their services!
