Mid-Year Policy Check-Up

I hope everyone is having a great summer! With vacations, family events, back-to-school planning, airplane trips, and so many other fun summer activities, it’s easy to forget about your less-exciting obligations. Whether it’s your flight physical, a dental visit, or maybe even an oil change, not every routine responsibility is a thrill ride. However, that should not detract from their importance. Routine maintenance is a perfect example of this. Maintenance is vital for preserving our homes, our bodies, and especially, our aircraft.

Here’s another item to add to your annual checkup list: reviewing your insurance policy. We’re not saying you should re-read your entire policy word for word, but it is worth taking a step back and completing a mental inventory of your aircraft and your operation. Ask yourself, has anything changed with my company? Do I offer more services? Has the value of my aircraft changed? Have I hired any new pilots? Am I planning a trip outside the United States? Your answers to these questions may change throughout a policy year, especially if you’re a commercial operator.

As you continue to evolve your business, it is critical you allow your insurance policy to keep pace. The policy you purchased six to eight months ago may not fully cover your business growth, leaving potential coverage gaps. Don’t be caught by surprise! Inform your agent of all the changes you’ve made. If you have any doubts or questions about your coverage, give us a call.
